  1. I know Haiku is a form of Japonese poetry, but what is it in particular?

  2. HAIKU is a short piece of life, that is life itself. It used to be "a Japanes form,in 3 lines and 17 syllables, written in Japanese, more to depict seasons,in classical form"
but now ,in Posmdern Era,it is written ,as a free short poem,in any languages,in any number of lines from 1 to a few, with or without counting syllables. This is developped most probably on SILK ROAD,through GATHA, Persian FAHLAVIAT/PAHLAVIHA,a predecessor of DOBEITI/TARANEHAYE MAHALLI,and later:ROBAI/RUBAY.So you can call Haiku as HAAT,TARANEH,TARANAK,...if you will.Haiku is unofficially the official form of poetry in ZEN BUDDHISM,which is not restricted in Japan and Souteast Asia and developped and expanded to all over the world.By the way the word "ASIA"used for that part of the world is a misnomer and we all are aware that Asia is a Continent, not limited to a region of that continent!
